 Martin M. Antony, PhD, ABPP is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at McMaster University. He is also Chief Psychologist and Director of the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton, Ontario. He received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York and completed his predoctoral internship training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Dr. Antony has published 11 books and more than 80 articles and book chapters in the areas of cognitive behavior therapy, panic disorder, social phobia, specific phobia, and obsessive compulsive disorder. He has received awards from the Society of Clinical Psychology, American Psychological Association the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and is a Fellow of the American and Canadian Psychological Associations.  He was recently President of the Anxiety Disorders Special Interest Group of the Association for Advancement of Behavior Therapy (AABT) and was Program Chair for the 2001 AABT meeting, as well as the 2003 convention of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America

Dr. Antony is editor of The Clinical Psychologist and has held editorial board appointments on seven scientific journals. He is also founding director of the Clinical Psychology Residency Program as St. Joseph’s Healthcare. Dr. Antony is actively involved in clinical research in the area of anxiety disorders, teaching and education, and maintains a clinical practice.
